Jenny Stark BHSAI
Driving force behind the enterprise! Usually found in the office meeting, greeting and taking all lesson bookings. Without Jenny the show would not go on!
Known to do dressage and some eventing in the past but was never that brave or competitive. Brought on some young horses and hunted but claim to fame would be starting Dryden Riding Centre 40 years ago. Jenny helped Ian with all his event horses – she did all of their fitness work and drove the lorry up and down country to horse trials.
Proud granny to her 4 grandchildren, Freddie, Alfie, Hugo and Eilidh!

Tim Stark – Jack of all Trades
Class 1 Lorry Driver
Chainsaw Cert. Forklift Cert. Accred. BE Course Builder
Clean driving license – patient man!
Always busy around the centre and farm maintaining and improving our facilities all the time. At weekends he is often found in the Judges box in charge of the timing! Tim is married to Kirsty and lives at Lempitlaw near Kelso with their 2 children Hugo and Eilidh.
Tim can ride but prefers his motorbike and snowboarding.
His latest Pride and Joy is his JCB Digger!

Elma Maclaren BHSAI - Instructor
Elma has been teaching in this family run business for over 30 years.
She has competed in British Eventing, British Dressage and Working Hunter.
She has represented her local Riding Club (Ettrick Forest Riders Association) on many occasions in various disciplines.
Elma has had great pleasure from breaking and bringing on her own and a small number of other people’s horses. Elma’s daughter Jessica is often found at the centre helping out and riding the young ponies.

Lisa Hendrie BHSAI – Instructor
Lisa always wanted to work with horses and has done so since leaving school at 15. She gained her Dipolma in Horse Management at Borders College. She started working at the Dryden Riding Centre and moved with the riding school to the Ian Stark Equestrian Centre. Lisa had great fun doing Riding Club teams with the Dryden ponies. Lisa has a pony mad daughter, Luci, who rides at the centre. Lisa also works for Borders College as a Horse Care Lecturer.

Kirsty Stark – Events Organiser
Kirsty runs and organises all the events at ISEC.
Kirsty has ridden all her life and competed in all disciplines but her main focus is Eventing and she has competed to advanced and old 3* level with her horse Harbour Lights. Kirsty has a BSc Honours Degree in Equine Sports Science which she attained at Nottingham Trent University. Kirsty is married to Tim and they have 2 children Hugo and Eilidh

Morag - Yard Manager
Morag first came to ISEC through Borders College in 2019 and can’t bear to leave us! Morag took on the role of Yard Manager in July 2021. Morag enjoys competing at our unaffiliated series in both Dressage and Show Jumping and is currently working towards her BHS Stage 3.

Beckie Fairley – Cleaner and Café Manager
Beckie lives at ISEC with her 3 boys and partner Rob. Beckie keeps the centre sparkling clean and tidy, and on competition days keeps the competitors fuelled with bacon rolls and her delicious soups! Beckie enjoys mountain biking, walking and spending time with her family.

Murdie – Rodent Control
Murdie is the yard cat who oversees all happenings at ISEC

Ludo – Tim’s apprentice
Ludo is Tim’s shadow that accompanies him to work every day and likes to go in the tractor or run behind the quad and pretends to be a guard dog.
